It’s been a minute since we've had a Kobold come through our doors, probably because Kobold owners LOVE their watches, and don't often give them up!

Not only does Kobold use top-notch materials and no-nonsense design, but their marketing materials were TOPS. (Picture: James Gandolfini giving the camera the finger while wearing a Kobold. RIP.) 

The particular Kobold we have here is a Richard Byrd Special Edition. A tribute to the great polar explorer and American admiral, it’s housed in a 40mm, DLC-coated stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal, a smooth bezel, and a signed, screw-down crown. It features a luminous, textured black dial with painted ‘Arabic’ indices, a matching ‘Mk 11’ handset, and an outer, open minute track. Powered by an automatic Swiss movement, it comes paired to a black leather strap with a DLC-coated, steel pin buckle.

Tactical, highly legible, cool-looking…what more could you want in a modern, military-inspired watch?
